the usual neXt · specialist studio
Immersive experiences, from narrative to commissioning
We are a studio specialising in immersive brand experiences. We combine narrative, content and software, and commission the parts entrusted to us.
Explore our projects
One capability, four coordinated disciplines
Space, narrative, technology and operations need a shared direction. the usual neXt brings these disciplines together and works with agencies, exhibition contractors, venues and suppliers already involved.
Experience strategy
We turn context, audience and objectives into a sequence of moments and interactions. This structure aligns content, space and technology around the same outcome.
Narrative direction and content
We define the narrative structure, audiovisual language and relationship between content and environment. Depending on the project, this includes writing, production, editing, 3D and adaptation for projection formats.
Software and interaction
We develop software for control, interaction and content coordination. Architecture and interfaces are designed around devices, operating workflows and the physical context.
Integration and commissioning
We connect content, software, projection, cabling and physical elements. On site, we oversee installation, calibration and operational start-up, either for a specific component or for the wider environment.
Projects, software and research
Our work is documented through completed structures, audiovisual productions, published software and applied research.
Immersive theatre
For the 14-metre geodesic dome used in Castel di Sangro on 8 November 2025, the usual neXt handled concept, configuration, supplier coordination, assembly, projection, content, software, cabling, calibration, operation, artistic direction and commissioning.
Luna Dolph – The Lost Echo
Luna Dolph is an immersive audiovisual production in post-production and currently seeking co-producers and distributors. It combines live-action footage, editing, 3D, artificial-intelligence tools and fulldome adaptation in a pipeline coordinated with cast and crew.
Published software
We develop and publish software for macOS, iOS, Android and the web: tools for video, immersive media, archives and installation management.
Applied research
Applied research spans sensors, open-source hardware and publications on interactive systems, production and immersive environments.
How we work on shared projects
the usual neXt can lead the experience component of an established project, work with the client's supply chain or coordinate a wider immersive environment. Roles and ways of working are agreed before production.
-
Define context and responsibilities
We begin with the objective, audience, location, schedule, constraints and parties already involved. We then define what TUN will develop, what it will coordinate and which activities require specialist partners.
-
Design and coordinate
We connect the journey, content, software and space. TUN develops the assigned work and coordinates each handover with agencies, exhibition contractors, venues and suppliers.
-
Produce and commission
Prototypes and technical trials identify critical points early. During production, we integrate each party's contribution and oversee the assigned work through to on-site start-up.
How we got here
Since 2019, the usual neXt has developed from audiovisual and 3D production into prototyping, construction, software and commissioning. Research and supplier coordination support our work across Italy and Switzerland.
-
2019
the usual neXt begins
Dario Riccio, Kodo Kapine and Igor Maria Di Paolo start the usual neXt by combining complementary expertise. Edoardo Guarnieri and David Lombardozzi contribute to the technical and operational work from the outset.
-
Audiovisual
From audiovisual production to environments
A background in cinema brings together writing, filming, editing, 3D production and digital compositing. Luna Dolph combines these capabilities in a pipeline for sets, performers and fulldome adaptation.
-
Prototype
The first physical prototype
A container becomes the first physical prototype. Financing and completing it turns drawings and content into a usable environment. Research, selection and coordination of international suppliers become part of the work.
-
Systems
From structures to software
Prototyping and construction expand into structures and projection systems. Software adds control and interaction, while on-site testing connects content, physical systems and operations.

A project can begin with an occasion, an existing space or a dedicated environment
We work on temporary occasions, existing spaces and dedicated environments. In the first discussion, we clarify the objective, context, people involved and the part of the project to entrust to TUN.
We handle initial conversations in Italian, English, French or Spanish. Written enquiries may also be sent in other languages.
